Time Management: Four Tips After Four Years

FOUR TIPS AFTER FOUR YEARS*

            *Time Management Edition

After four years of all-nighters, doing homework in lunch, and attempts at using a planner, us Seniors at FB Digital feel that we need to impart our wisdom to rising classes at Doral Academy. We hope you use this tips…. Really, use them. We wish we did.

Enjoy!

  1. Stop Procrastinating!

Yes, that episode is tempting. We know, we’ve been there too.

Ultimately,  the work that you are putting off is the work that accumulates.

Take initiative and allow yourself to relinquish stress by dedicating at least an hour of your day to completely finishing all your work. The feeling of satisfaction after doing so and walking through the doors of your classroom prepared is truly like no other. Daily dedicating time to accomplishing your homework or studying will truly make a difference on your high school career.

In the words of Benjamin Franklin,

“Never leave till tomorrow what you can do today.”

  1. Know What You Can Handle!

Considering that we have all heard the phrase “use your time wisely,”

we have chosen to give another suggestion: know what you can handle.

It’s not that you can’t do those 7 AP classes, 4 dual enrollment classes,

9 clubs, and 2 varsity teams but maybe you can’t handle them mentally and emotionally.

When choosing what your upcoming years are going to look like, be mindful and considerate to yourself. Although you want to have that eye catching schedule and say that you are apart of many things, maybe it’s not what’s best for you in the long run. However, this does not mean to withhold yourself from challenging yourself. Just don’t allow yourself to become your worst enemy.

In the words of Henry David Thoreau,

The question is, what are we busy about?”

  1. Organize, Organize, Organize Through Bullet Journaling!

Getting organized isn’t easy or enticing. Luckily, there is a new craze that has been inspiring people to get organized and it’s called Bullet Journaling! As more and more people share their stories about how they journal, the more we see the benefit it can bring to us. By starting your own Bullet Journal, you’ll allow yourself to be creative and organized. It’s honestly the best of both worlds. There have been many Youtubers who have shared their experiences with journaling and it’s seen to even relieve stress. If you are thinking about starting your own Bullet Journal, we recommend looking on Pinterest for some inspiration like we did!

You’ll thank us when you find that missing homework.

In the words of Benjamin Franklin,

“For every minute spent in organizing, an hour is earned”

  1. If You Listened to Nothing, Work with What You’ve Got

Sometimes we don’t listen to those who have already learned. It’s probably not the best strategy, but it happens. Sometimes we learn for ourselves, so, we leave you with this:

work with what you’ve got. If it’s the final hour, do the best you can.

It is not always about quantity, but more about the quality of work which will in the end represent your identity.

A job well done is better than one halfway done,

But a job halfway done is better than one not done at all.

Listen to Leo, he knows best.
